I just ran the latest update and find, like many others, that there is a new UNcategorized category added. First question is – WHY?!? And why is there no option to simply turn it off?

I do not use categories.I have three products currently – 3! I have no need for categories and have all three displayed on the shop page. Now, I have to assign categories to everything? I would like to be able to display my three products as they have been until a day ago.

Hiding the category with CSS did not work. Apparently the only other option is to edit the functions.php file?

Can someone guide me to a way to simply display my three products again, with NO category?

    Thank you.

At Appearance > Customize > WooCommerce > Products Catalog, you can change what will be displayed on the shop page. Change this to just showing products.

A category needs to be assigned to products now, so just make a general category name and use that. It shouldn’t interfere with anything after you change the shop page display setting.

Thank you Caleb! That was far simpler than the other solutions floated around. And resolved my issue.

    Thank you for your assistance.
