Unasked for new features break WP

  • Suddenly I had a huge amount of DB errors in my PHP log, and spent some time searching for the reason – I had never heard of Profile Press and thought that some hacker had installed a new plugin on my sites.

    When I realised what was happening, I deleted it on all websites where it was installed and set the Discussion setting in WordPress to not use avatars when none is available (or you can use the mystery man). Problem solved.
