Hi this happened when I installed formidable forms etc. I have a htacess file and it is writeable but am on https so not sure if that is an issue.

    Hi,
Which version of formidable forms you use? Trying to replicate the problem on this side.

    Thanks

I am getting same message on two of my sites Unable to write custom rules to your .htaccess. Is this file writable? No mod is applied.

I disabled all plugins and it makes no difference. It apparently is making changes to the htaccess file however but not applying them.

Though only thing I suspect is that both of those sites files are in a wp subdirectory.

This should be fixed since version 1.4.4

I am also getting this error message

Have you migrated your site or used any backup file recently?
Try it, on the wp-hide plugin and on Admin tab, click “Save” to re-read it or re-save.

when I try to activate a new theme this error display

Does your server actually use Apache or Nginx (being set as reverse proxy for Apache) or IIS ?

Hi, got this problem now too.

    Same problem !
This is an amazing plugin. However, it doesn’t work when WP is installed in a sub-directory.

    Please help !

    Thanks & Regards

Having the same problem.Even when the permissions are set to 0777. I don’t think this issue is resolved.

@marcel962 did you tried to disable other plugins? maybe there’s a conflict.

Same problem here with the latest version of the plugin. How to fix this issue?

Same issue here “Unable to write custom rules to your .htaccess. Is this file writable?” – running 1.4.7 of WP Hide. Warning stops appearing after disabling WP Hide.

This must be something specific to server configuration, can you ask for more help at wp-hide.com
