Hi there, great plugin! However I’m unable to view Queries by Component.

I get a red error at the top of Queries that says “Extended query information such as the component and affected rows is not available. A conflicting db.php file is present. See this wiki page for more information.”

When I view that page I’m not sure what can be done to resolve this. Any suggestions?

    Thank you,
    Chris

Sorry you’re seeing this problem! The cause is likely that both Query Monitor and another plugin (W3TC probably) want to put a db.php file into your wp-content directory, and the other plugin got there first.

The section at the bottom of the wiki page is relevant to this situation. Unfortunately there is nothing that can be done.

Hmm, ok so would replacing W3TC with a different caching plugin work?

The core problem is that you can’t have two plugins on your site at the same time that both override the database driver. If you install another caching plugin it may also want to install a db.php file.

You can temporarily disable the database component in W3TC’s settings, then deactivate and reactivate QM, then you’ll be able to view Queries by Component in QM. That said, I’m not entirely sure what the database caching in W3TC does so it might affect the accuracy of what QM reports.
