Unable to use Divi Builder

Just to be certain, have you made sure to enable Divi support via their settings, for the post type(s) in question?

That’s my primary question so far. CPTUI itself doesn’t have any Divi specific settings, and it’s most often the job of the page builder/theme/plugin to offer the ways to enable support in the content types.

Yes, I enabled divi support for the post type and that allowed the use of the front end editor but seemed to wipe out the backend screen almost entirely.

I approached Divi support first and they took a look around to verify the problem but refused to investigate it and told me to contact the plugin developer for CPT UI. I was not impressed with their support this time. His only suggestion was to disable CPT UI and then retest enabling Divi inside a new CPT post screen… which is impossible to do since that post type would no longer be fully functioning without the plugin enabled.

In terms of moving forward, do CPT UI post types usually work ok with the Divi Builder? What would you suggest I look for to debug? I see no console errors or new errors in the debug.log file.

Can you visit /wp-admin/admin.php?page=cptui_tools with your domain prefixed and paste me the blob of content on the right hand side? I can do some setting review and see about testing some things out.

Just off the top of my head, I’m wondering if you maybe edited the capability_type field away from “post” and if adding that back as that may solve everything here.

Otherwise, I’d need to do the forementioned testing.

Last question, is this something that’s happening for ALL of them? or just specific post types? If specific ones, which ones?

It’s happening for both of the post types I created for this site. If I disable that post type in Divi settings the post comes back to life. It only affects the individual post where the “Use the Divi Builder” button has been pressed.

Maybe I’m misunderstanding the issue a little bit. Are you saying that you had content for the posts and installed Divi afterwards, and the content isn’t being loaded as part of Divi?

As is, with a brand new post, I’m seeing https://cloudup.com/c2se8w6INt4 which I have to believe is to be expected. I only added a row to the Divi editor portion, no actual content yet.

I already had Divi installed but when I clicked the use Divi button on new or existing content it wipes out the back end editor for that Post. It also removes any related Taxonomy in the right hand column of the back end edit/create screen.

I hadn’t entered any content in the wysiwyg yet since I was planning on using the Divi Builder to add any content.

Not quite sure what to say at this point, as I’m not managing to recreate any issues at all here. However, I also know that my test install is going to be a lot more barebones than your active website, so there may be other plugins or the theme contributing to issues here.

It’s definitely more an issue on Divi’s side than CPTUI’s, if you ask my professional opinion.
