• Im just going to go ahead and quote it;

    “Unable to create directory /home/wwwrun/public_html/wp-content/uploads/2011/01. Is its parent directory writable by the server?”

    My settings > Miscellenous is set to default,

    With “wp-content/uploads” in the top box, and the second empty.
    “organise my uploads into year/moth” is checked.

    No other topics have managed to resolve this yet.

    Thanks,
    James

  • Try changing the permissions on the wp-content directory to 766. If you still have problems, try 767 or 777. Once your uploads are working, change the permissions on wp-content back to 755 again and check that everything still works OK.

    Hello,

    Also in some shared hosting environments you will find that the service provider does not allow manipulation of files in the global temp folder for reasons of security, they have have a method to override this function, we do here at Islandnet.com.

    Its more than likely a permissions based issue as stated by esmi.

    Thanks,
    Rob
