unable to upload an image in WP 2.0

  • Previously, I use WP 1.5, it works fine. I delete it and install (a clean install) WP 2.0. All works fine, the only problem is that I can not upload image.
    I have an error message when I try to do it
    “Unable to create directory /home/virtual/site436/fst/var/www/html/wordpress/wp-content/uploads. Is its parent directory writable by the server?”

    The directory wordpress/wp-content/ is 755
    owner : Read Write Execute
    user/group : Read Execute
    everyone : Read Execute
    The directory “uploads” is not created.

  • create a uploads directory in wp-content manually
    and i belive you might need to chmod 777 for this upload directory
