Unable to upgrade WordPress

  • I’m continuing to run into a series of errors when trying to upgrade WordPress automatically, including the latest update made available for 4.4. My WordPress website is being hosted in-house.

    The error states:

    WordPress could not establish a secure connection to www.remarpro.com. Please contact your server administrator.

    Error: update.php on line 115

    It also adds a “Permission denied” error on line 464 on wp-admin\includes\file.php

    Would installing the new files manually fix this issue or is this an issue on my end with the hosting?
