Unable to upgrade to 4.2.1

I am receiving this error message when trying to update to 4.2.1

The update cannot be installed because we will be unable to copy some files. This is usually due to inconsistent file permissions.: wp-load.php, wp-login.php

Installation Failed

I’m not sure where to start in order to fix the issue.
