I have the following plugins installed:

    Debug
    MSTW Bracket Builders
    MSTW League Manager
    MSTW Team Rosters (inactive)

I’m using the free version of MSTW Bracket Builder, will buy if this plugin can meet our needs.

I’ve created a tournament with 5 rounds, but have also tried this on the 4 rounds. When I click to Edit Tournment, I can only fill out the top three rows in Round 1. If I fill out any additional information, and click Update Tournament Table or Update Games, the page refreshes and I only have the top three rows filled out again. Everything else is cleared.

I have created a secondary (dummy) tournament as per another post, but I’m not sure what else to do. Can you suggest anything I can try?

    Hi,
Thanks for posting. Something strange is going on here. I have no suggestions at this point. I have to debug this. Unfortunately, I will be without broadband access until 18 Sept, so I’m not going to get much done until then. It’s on my list. Stay tuned.

Understood – must be difficult to be able to check messages, but not much else while you’re in between~! Thanks for looking into it.

Have you had a chance to look at this yet?

Sadly no, but I have broadband access now!! To move this rock down the road a bit, have you turned on WordPress debug and looked at you debug.log file. If you could do that, we might find something interesting which would save me some time. Get ready to update a tournament, delete the log file (it will come back), proceed to update the tournament, then see what’s in the file, if anything.

    Thanks,

Yes, debug is on. THe file contains:

    Is that helpful?

Hmm, deleted that tournament, and made a new one – and it seems to be accepting the edits I make now.

    * shrug *

Sorry, can’t replicate the problem now. So …. fixed?

    (@markodonnell)

That did help. Show exactly where the problem lies. I wouldn’t say “fixed”, it’s something I need to dig into deeper. Apparently I’m not anticipating and handling something in the data. Maybe it’s an input error I need to catch, maybe a code error. Glad you can move forward, as I won’t have time to look into this for awhile.

    Hi Ralph,
I’m getting back up to speed, very slowly. I have been working with a customer on Tournament Brackets without problems. But he is using the premium version because he is deep into League Manager.

I did notice that it appeared in your first post that you sometimes clicked Update Tournament Table. This WILL delete all the data you have entered. You need to click Update Games. There is a big RED warning about this in the premium version, but not in the free version. I have to add that in the next release.

Other than that, I was able to repeat (and then fix) the round_nbr error. But now I’m seeing other strange behavior, that I believe is being caused by collisions with the premium version. (I’m doing things on my dev box that one should not try at home.)

Stay tuned. When the next version (a BIG update) of League Manager is released, I will go back to this and sort it out for you.

    Stay tuned.

BTW, thanks for your help in debugging. if you would like to try the premium version, we will work something out. Contact me at [email protected].
