Unable To Update Products – Redirects to 404 Not Found

    Hello,

    Whenever I try to update any product, it redirects to 404 page and the product doesn’t get updated. I’ve tried troubleshoot but wasn’t able to find something solid. I’m attaching the Site’s status below, would appreciate a lot if someone can help at earliest.

    To ensure I can provide the most accurate assistance, could you please provide a bit more information:

    1. Is this a new occurrence on an established site, or is this a new site where you’re facing the issue for the first time?
    2. Are you facing a 404 error on any other page in the WP Admin dashboard? Could you please verify this by checking a few other admin pages?
    3. After attempting an update and landing on the 404 error page, what is the URL in your browser’s address bar?
    4. A full-page screenshot with the URL visible would be highly beneficial. It would give us a better understanding of what might be happening when the error occurs.
    5. If you haven’t already, can you try switching your theme to the default Storefront theme temporarily and then attempt to update a product? This helps to determine if the issue might be with theme compatibility.

    Your response with the additional details requested will greatly help in diagnosing and resolving the problem as swiftly as possible.

    Hi Zubair,

    Thank you for responding back. This is happening only in products, the rest of the pages and posts seems to be working fine

    Also, I’m able to publish new products or new entries, but when I try to update the existing one, it just redirects me to 404 page and the url becomes from the backend string to /wp-admin/post.php or something like that.

    This is the first time I’ve encountered this. This is a new website freshly developed.

    Update –

    I’ve tested w/ storefront theme as well and the error is still there. Also, we are unable to see the payments methods in checkout page as well. Its an infinite loop in storefront theme and in my current, the options seems to be disabled. I’ve attached a screenshot below.

    Thanks for trying the theme conflict test. Since it did not work, can you please run a full conflict test to check?

    To test, you’ll first want to change the theme on your site to Storefront again. Then you’ll want to deactivate all plugins except for WooCommerce and take a look. If that fixes the problem, re-enable the other plugins one by one (gradually), checking after each, to see where the issue is coming from.

    — Be sure you have a good backup in place of your full site and database. You can ask your host for backup functionality or you can consider using a service like Jetpack. If something goes wrong, you will be able to restore it.

    — Also, you can consider using a plugin like Health Check & Troubleshooting. This is a plugin developed by the WordPress community and it is helpful to disable plugins without affecting your current site visitors.

    — It is important to consider as well a staging functionality in case you would not like to touch your production site (you can ask your host if they offer this service), or you can use WP Staging for quickly spinning up a new test site.
