• This is the error message I am getting in my Chrome console:

JQMIGRATE: Migrate is installed, version 1.4.1
mce-view.min.js:1 Uncaught SyntaxError: Invalid or unexpected token
wp-tinymce.js:3 Uncaught SyntaxError: Invalid or unexpected token
post.php?post=2741&action=edit:2261 Uncaught ReferenceError: tinymce is not defined
    at post.php?post=2741&action=edit:2261

Can anyone tell me how to fix this so I can update my website. I have been unable to update for 5 days now and this is the 3rd time this has happened in the last 3 months. I have done endless things to try and fix this but nothing is working. My hosting provider say’s it has nothing to do with their end.

    Thanks
    Susan

Getting no help with this I had to revert back to WP 4.9 version and now my website is working again. Not perfect but I could not continue to be unable to update my site. Good luck!

This was (still is?) a known issue with some web hosts using a software that inserts an HTML string in js files in some circumstances. Hope this has been resolved everywhere by now.
