• So, I’m running into this error every time I go to update a plugin or theme, or add a new one.

PCLZIP_ERR_BAD_FORMAT (-10) : Unable to find End of Central Dir Record signature

Now, I’m really posting here as a last resort as I’ve spent a good couple of hours at this point scrolling through threads on various sites that all have the same error but a different problem, none of which seem to be mine.

It’s not server space, that’s the first solution that seems to come up.

I can upload stuff via FTP, but it doesn’t appear in wordpress (i.e manually uploading a plugin won’t make it function).

Because I’m updating things that have previously functioned fine, (especially since I’m updating plugins that I know work on other sites I run) I’m fairly confident it’s not some kind of file error, or incomplete packages or something like that. Also especially, since one of the packages I’m trying to install is the update to wordpress 4.4.2.

If anyone has any suggestions I’d love to hear it. This is becoming very frustrating as this error has seemingly come from no-where. Last time I accessed the site, everything was working great. Log in today and nothing wants to play ball.

Thanks, but I’ve already tried everything listed in that thread.

As I mentioned, it’s definitely not storage space. I literally have over 9gb of space left. And the only other real suggestion in that thread is to unpack and repack the zip. Again, not the issue as this is me internally trying to update from the wordpress interface. Because of who this website is for, I’m not exactly keen on explaining to them how ftp works in order for them to keep it updated (not that that appears to work any way, as I mentioned in my first post…).

Any more suggestions would be great.
