• Hi folks,

The “insert custom link to the menu” does not show a link for the index page in the header navigation. The menu accepts it, but it does not show on the index page.

I’ve tried various workarounds for this but so far nothing has worked.

I decided to create a version of the banner with a link, and now I have short code for a version of the banner with a hotspot and link back to the home page.

I was able to successful insert this into the footer widget as you can see at the bottom of the page.

However, can’t figure out how to insert the shortcode to replace the existing banner image in the header.

    Anyone have an idea?

    Thanks!

  • If I understand correctly, you want to link the banner in the footer of your website to the homepage? Then you simply have to enter “/” as the link target. This also applies to custom links in the menu.

Thanks. I assume you mean, for example, in the menu, to insert a custom link. Neither the full URL nor / generates the link.

The other links in the menu, which are all pages, work fine. The custom link to home still does not work.

This seems to be a design flaw in the theme. Or am I still doing something wrong?

I don’t currently see a link in the menu that links to “Home”?

There isn’t one. That’s what I’m asking about. Inserting this link through the menu that contains the other banner links does not work.

You have to add the page to the menu which represents the startpage, which is configured under Settings > Reading. Not as custom link. Use the page.

I see how I can set a static page as the homepage under Settings – readings, but no way to supply the missing link to the existing homepage throughout the site headers. I don’t want it to be static for now. I want the index page I have, but to have a link to it in every header. This is normally easy to do through the means described above, but doesn’t seem to function with this theme.

Maybe I’m missing something on the Settings – reading page but I don’t see anything there that allows me to follow through on your suggestion.

    Thanks.
