To troubleshoot this issue, I would recommend you to exclude the WPForms assets from the cache plugin. Here is a guide on this.

@niksebastian you clearly did not bother to actually read what I said above, as I have explicitly told you why doing that is not an option to exclude pages with forms.

So since it is clear that the only way to avoid this problem, is to turn off caching, and thus degrade the performance of your website, which will negatively impact SEO.

It is definitely time to get rid of wpforms.

For anyone else reading this, I recommend forminator, which one of the best free form plugins available. It includes features that all the other plugins charge for.

While this happened to me when guy from support not read my question before, and answering with template, but i think you missed one point here @lordsnake.
What @niksebastian trying to said that you need to exclude specific file on wpforms js file. Something like ‘wp-content/plugins/wpforms/assets/js/wpforms.min.js’ not turn off all cache on your site.
Maybe I also wrong.

In my previous response, I meant to exclude the WPForms Javascript Files from getting cached and not to exclude the page URL.

Please know that by default, WPForms enables a native antispam feature that is quite effective in blocking spam for websites that don’t have any other spam protection features. As you’ve mentioned, this feature makes use of a token-based system that is used to verify submissions. Unfortunately, this system does not work as expected when interacting with an aggressive caching plugin.

If it helps, besides the solutions that you brought up above, we recommend setting the cache lifespan to around 45 hours as the most ideal fix for this issue. Please see the related article on this issue. I’m sorry if you did not come across this information on our documentation.

actually wpforms did nothing at all to block spam, we had to implement cleantalk.
This is how we managed to confirm all the lost leads, because thankfully cleantalk logged all the form submissions, even though wpform was blocking the form from being submitted.

I have removed wpforms from all sites now anyway.
I have switched to forminator, which includes many of your paid features even in the free version.

Most clients are not prepared to pay for a forms plugin just for a simple contact form.

Hello, I have this same issue.

I am using Siteground so have their optimizer. I have turned off the Minifiy and Combine Javascript files. I have also added the contact form url to to be excluded from caching, but the form still won’t submit.

I have 2 other forms both of which work. It’s just the contact form that doesn’t submit. I’ve deleted the form and remade it, I’ve deleted the plugin and reinstalled it but nothing seems to work.

I received a spam message via the contact form overnight and received the email so it must have been working a few hours ago.

@capitaldigital just use Forminator instead. The free version has much more features than any other free forms plugin and doesn’t have this issue.
