  • No that’s fine. I’m just puzzled as to what’s going on as your child theme looks okay. But how did you create that new style.css file? A plain text editor?

I am using HostGator for this site, Using cPanel and the code editor provided I first created new folder, ‘…-child’ then created a new file ‘style.css’ then with the code editor provided I did cut/paste from the Codex page into the file ‘style.css’, then I changed my name as author. (presumptive, no?)

I’ve seen problems when files are created in a file manager like that – don’t know if that’s the problem here or not. I’d suggest trying it using a plain text editor on your computer and uploading the file to the new child theme directory.

Sure thing. But I have run out of time for today, I will post again tomorrow morning with the results of that project.
Again, thanks for your help and patience.

    WPyogi,
    Yea!
I have an old Crimson Editor that I used. I don’t understand what made the difference. I cut/paste the same code and uploaded it and now I have grid!
Thanks for your help and patience.
I am working on this site before applying the theme to our primary site. sanantonioteaparty
I am marking this thread as resolved.
I am however moving on to other issues as I modify this theme to our use. I expect to have to post again.

YAY! Good job on your persistence – glad to hear it’s working :)!
