Unable to share to Facebook page

    We no longer seem able to share our website posts to our Facebook page using the plugin. Facebook seems unable to accept any data from our posts. It opens a Create Post pane referencing our website, but does not pick up any of the web post information.

    Per the FAQ on Facebook sharing, you’ll want to troubleshoot with Facebook’s sharing debugger, which currently shows:

    Can’t Download

    Could not resolve the hostname into a valid IP address

    That means Facebook servers can’t reach your page, probably due to a “security” plugin or something else that blocks bots/crawlers.

    Thanks for the explanation. Our webhost removed the whitelist for Facebook bots because a change in Meta’s setup meant they were causing excessive CPU load. This has now been resolved so Facebook is whitelisted again.
