I am unable to set up the plugin. When going through the setup steps, I get all the way to the end and it says “You’re all set” but when I click “done” and redirect back to WooCommerce, I get a message “Something went wrong when connecting to facebook!
    Could not retrieve installation IDs”.

I have the latest version of Facebook for WooCommerce. I have tried reinstalling the plugin as well as the Facebook for WooCommerce – settings tools. I have tried ruling out potential conflicts by disabling other plugins, firewalls, and themes. I have tried removing non-standard ASCII characters from the site title and the value for “wc_facebook_external_business_id” in my options.php. I am still getting this error.

    Can you please assist me?

  • Hi @cricketscrystals

“Something went wrong when connecting to facebook!
    Could not retrieve installation IDs”.

I understand that you are unable to set up the plugin and receive the error above.

Can you please share if you have any other error with a stack trace by going to WP Admin > WooCommerce > Status > Logs > and then check if there are any Fatal Errors or errors from Facebook for WooCommerce?

Furthermore, in order for us to understand your site properly, can you please share your System Status Report, that will help us further troubleshoot.

You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select Get system report and then Copy for support. Once you’ve done that, you can paste it into your reply here.

I had something similar happen, it just didn’t work, and when I tried to uninstall plugin it wouldn’t uninstall cleanly.
