Unable to set user role on multisite (networked)

  • Has anyone run across on issue where the pull-down menu for user roles becomes disabled on a networked sub-site?

    Oddly, I’m having this problem with only one of my three sites. The menu to change the user role (in both sites/[sub-site]/edit AND sites/users) is disabled—I can see it but it is tiny. When I try to edit a specific user under “Users” in super admin, it says no role is defined and offers no other options. I tried disabling all my plugins but that didn’t solve the problem. I thought I may have had user registration closed but I do not.

    So, basically, I cannot get any new user to access the backend of this one sub-site unless they are promoted to super admin. Very frustrating. Any ideas?
