Unable to set media category during upload

    Hi –

    I am trying to use this plugin to help organize media for our PTO’s website.

    This plugin mentions that the following is possible:

    “immediately set taxonomy term to any media file during upload via Media Uploader”

    I see that I can select a category for my images when I upload them, but I can’t figure out how to save the categories. I click the category I want, but it does not get saved with the image after it is uploaded and inserted into my post.

    Thanks for your help – I feel like I am just missing something basic!

    I should also mention that I am trying to set a category on items uploaded via the media uploader when I insert them into a post. Thanks!

    Hello @anon1hippo,

    I just checked this functionality. It works for me. Please give me more information. Why do you think that the category isn’t saved after inserting the image to your post? Where do you check is the category assigned or not?

    Thanks for your response! I appreciate the help. In order for you to see what I am doing, I took screen shot captures and documented my steps. I have placed the PDF file in my dropbox:

    Basically I am checking if the category is set on my image by looking at it in the Media Library. Hope the screen shots will help.

    Sorry, for the delay. I was using the debaat’s version of the the enhanced media library to allow for batch category selection (https://www.de-baat.nl/enhanced-media-library/ -I have over 600 pieces of media I was trying to organize). I didn’t think that would affect this piece of function, but it appears it had. I backed out his version and restored the original and it now works fine for me. Many thanks to the plugin author for her quick responses and help.

    Thank you for replying. I don’t have that version as far as I am aware . Mine is version 1.1.1. I think it may have worked initially but I can’t remember – I’ve been doing so much with images. It definitely isn’t working now anyway. I’ve deactivated recent plugins to check but still no joy.

    I have disabled and deleted various plugins, deleted and reinstalled enhanced media library and I am still unable to categorise on upload. My categories are created and saved but no joy with the media upload at all. I’d be very grateful of a a response if possible Web Bistro.

    [RESOLVED] I have it sorted. I was approaching it from the wrong place.
