unable to set featured/upload new slide

    I just added a new copy of Meator Slides to my site, I’ve used it on a couple of other sites, no problem. But this time, there seems to be some bug, where no matter how many times I upload a new image, or pick an image the gallery and set as featured, nothing happens. I’m at a dead end with no clickable options to get me back to the slide settings or to the dashboard. If I reload the dashboard and go to the slide settings, no image has been added. I have already created a new slideshow, inserted the code into theme… not sure why it’s hung up when trying to add a slide.

    Hi, sounds like there might be a plugin conflict, try deactivating your other plugins and testing it out. Otherwise if you want to send me a login I can take a look.

    so there is no “lightroom” style hover when I click to add a new slide – no way to just close the window — I have to reload the back to the Slideshow or Dashboard.

    sorted it — I reinstalled, and hit publish slideshow first, then added a slide — it’s saving now.

    so the process, for me to get it to work… just an FYI

    After clicking into the “add new slide” screen, I have to title it (define the link if needed) then select the slideshow and publish it — only then, after I have published can I then “select the featured image”

    I’m having this same problem and I’ve followed the suggestions only I still can’t select the featured image, I keep on getting an error message and a “try again later”.

    @lukeratto That’s strange, you shouldn’t have to do that, I think there’s still a conflict.

    @groovygreg I couldn’t tell you what is going on without being able to login and try it out.

    @josh — there definitely is still a conflict, but it’s working, regardless of the funky upload process, I couldn’t sort out the conflicting plug-in — so going with it for now.

    so, to confirm, the conflict is when I am on the screen to select the Featured Image/Upload image — there is no secondary window that appears, it’s just the upload window, so I can upload and/or select the Featured Image, but then there is no other step for me to take to continue is to go back to the dashboard (back nav in browser or reload the dashboard) I’ve tried varying the browser, to see if there was a connection, tried Chrome, Safari or Firefox –

    If I figure out the conflicting plugin I’ll let you know.

    I am having the exact same thing happen to me for the plugin as @lukeratto. I used the work around that you suggested and it works now.

    Did you have any luck figuring out the conflicting plugin?

    I’m having a similar issue. This is a new site – only two other plugins akismet and TimThumb. I have added new slides, named, selected slide show saved — still no ability to select featured image, after the first image. I want 5 images in this slideshow.
