I’m trying to style the menu items in desktop vs mobile layout to have a different color.

I checked in the documentation: Header Primary Menu > Custom colors for the Primary Menu items > watched the linked video. The video shows someone going to the mobile setting and starting with a “primary menu”, then adding another “primary menu” component. When I try to do this, I can’t add another “primary menu” since I already have one there (screen recording). In this state, changing the styling for the primary menu changes it across both desktop and mobile layouts.

If I add a secondary menu (which I can do in the mobile setting), that uses entirely different menu items, which I don’t want – I just want to color the same menu differently in desktop vs. mobile.

I know I can target this in CSS in a child theme, but I’m trying to have all the styling defined in one place rather than having some of it in CSS and some of it in these settings.

    Neve theme version 2.8.2
    WordPress 5.5.1
    Firefox 82.0.3 (64-bit)
    Mac OS 10.14.6
    Run locally on MAMP 5.3
    PHP 7.3.1

  • Hi @mrengy,

Thank you for using the Neve theme!

As mentioned in the guide that you shared –

Neve has only one Primary Menu component included in the header builder. An extra Primary Menu component is part of Neve Pro’s Header Booster module.

So adding that another component of the primary menu to have different styles on mobile is only available with the Pro version of the theme.

With the Free theme, it’s only possible with custom CSS.
