    Hi there!

First i’m sorry about my english.
    And my problem:
The Navigation with “pages” is automaticly alphabetical sorted. This is normal and anyone know this, i guess. ??

Ok, but now i have do some SUBmenus in a page and there’s nothing alphabetical sorted.
I hope you know what i mean.
The Submenus are sorted by date/creating and not by alphabet – But how i can change this “automatic” to alphabetical order??
It is realy bad and confusing me/all if this not set to automaticly ordering.
(i already know the “manual” sorting, but this is not good for me)

Hope you could understand me and my problem?
For Short: How can i sort submemnus by automaticly?

    Thank you very much!

    Best Greetings, miow

  • It might help if you explained what you’re using to create these sub-menus.

Menu items are sorted by the “order” of the pages, at least in Twenty Ten (I don’t know if that is the default for WordPress.) From the Pages on the Admin menu, do a Quick Edit on each page and change the Order field to a number that will put the pages in the order you want. I typically number my pages 10, 20, 30, etc. so I have room to insert another page later if I need to do that without renumbering all the pages.

ehm….i don’t really understood what you mean. I am really(!!!!) sorry!
For the Submrenus i really don’t use a Widget oder something else. Just a simple template created on my self. But the fact is, i guess (wordpress in his own) it’s not confirm with that automatic submenu ordering.

IF you want an example, i hope i can delete this later????? (i mean this posting!!!) Look for “Specials” – It’s all english and you can see what i mean now:
    Removed – Westi

As i’m saying, please look under my section for all: “Specials”!

There you can see, it’s already not sorted by alphabeticle.

And i’m very very sorry about my english!

What code are you using to create these sub-menus?

Ehm, how can i remove my url? Don’t find a link for that.
And i use a templatemaker for my theme. I just looked for a solution in the program but i can’t set anything for sorting the subs. -.-”

    Link removed for you.

Ah thank you very very much!!!

So i have an addendum about my problem. Maybe it was not for erveryone understandable what i mean with it.
Some Templates have a vertical menu. But not me!
The Problem is based on my “normal” Pages-Menu with submenus.

I’ve searched further the internet about alphabetical listing in submenus and i found out there is a line like “wp_list_pages” in my “functions.php”.
BUT it is no solution because it works only for the pages and not for the sub-pages.
I’m realy going crazy about this. ^^

On many sites is explained where i can sort the pages but not the sub-pages.
And i believe in that there’s a solution for my sub-pages problem. But i don’t know the “code” for that. -.-“
Maybe WordPress should a built-in function for sort the submenus. Because i can sort the pages but not the sub-pages!? ??

    @ Guy Scharf:
Oh yes, i knew it already. But it is no solution for me, because i add daily new sub-pages. I’m sorry.

    Argh!!!!!
It was my own created Theme! -.-“
The Theme was not for WP 3.0.1! Now i made a new theme based on 3.0.1 and the result is alright. Sorry, i didn’t realize that.
    Problem solved!
