unable to send test email contact form 7 microsoft office easy wp smtp

  • Hello!

    The contactform is not working for some reason. I filled in all the correct data.
    smtp host: smtp.office365.com
    ssl/tls
    smtp port: 587
    smtp authentication: yes
    email username: ***
    email password: ***

    But I still get an smtp error if I try to use the test mail:

    SMTP ERROR: Failed to connect to server: (0)SMTP connect() failed. https://github.com/PHPMailer/PHPMailer/wiki/Troubleshooting

    If I use STARTTLS in stead of ssl/tls
    I get this error message:
    CLIENT -> SERVER: EHLO https://www.terlouwrotterdam.com
    CLIENT -> SERVER: STARTTLS
    CLIENT -> SERVER: EHLO https://www.terlouwrotterdam.com
    CLIENT -> SERVER: AUTH LOGIN
    CLIENT -> SERVER: aW5mb0B0ZXJsb3V3cm90dGVyZGFtLmNvbSA=
    CLIENT -> SERVER: V294NjI2NjA=
    SMTP ERROR: Password command failed: 535 5.7.3 Authentication unsuccessful [AM4PR0202CA0020.eurprd02.prod.outlook.com]
    SMTP Error: Could not authenticate.CLIENT -> SERVER: QUIT
    SMTP Error: Could not authenticate.

    What should I do?

    Yes ofcourse. I first tried the troubleshooting. My hosting is PCextreme.nl

    Hi, I think your best option is to speak to your host about this issue. The reason why I am asking this is because of the following error message.

    SMTP ERROR: Failed to connect to server: (0)SMTP connect() failed.

    Let me know what they say.

    Good morning, I have a similar problem, mailings do not work neither from Ninja Forms nor from Woocommerce, it gives us the following error:

    CLIENT -> SERVER: AUTH LOGIN

    CLIENT -> SERVER: cG5pZTc4NzNtYWls
    SMTP ERROR: Password command failed: 535 Authentication credentials invalid
    SMTP Error: Could not authenticate.CLIENT -> SERVER: QUIT
    SMTP Error: Could not authenticate.

    We have tested all possible configurations.

    The host even put a special spf record in place, but nothing works.
