• So I set up my iredmail and roundcube email server using Nginx on CentOs7 following this link https://www.linuxbabe.com/mail-server/centos-7-iredmail-email-server#comment-249008.

Everything works, I am able to send and receive emails to different email servers including gmail using roundcube. I even logged in on thunderbird using STARTTLS and mail.mydomain.com as seen on the images in the link above and everything works.

However, I am unable to send any emails from wordpress using your POST SMTP Mailer plugin with the same settings as thunderbird, and also with none as the authentication.

What is the best way to get it to work in my case?

Please include your Post SMTP diagnostics log in your next reply and I’ll have a look at this for you.

Also I get this on chrome notification
5.7.0 Must issue a STARTTLS command first

    Hi @fegdeed,

Apologies for delayed reply. Can you try setting authentication to login instead of plain? Thanks!

    Kind Regards,

    Hi @tneville,

No worries, I tried that, still the same issue.
My email server is hosted on a different server from my WordPress site, however, on my WordPress site openssl.cafile and capath both has no value, could that be the issue?

    Thank you.
    Kind regards.

    Hi @fegdeed,

Just compared this with some of my servers and this is not needed. Mine do not have values either but work okay for a vast majority of SMTP services.

Have you run a Connectivity Test in Post SMTP? All good?

    Kind Regards,
    Tim

    Hi @tneville,

Yes I did run the connectivity test from the startup wizard, I got

Postman recommends ??SMTP with no authentication to host mail.mydomain.com on port 587.

    Socket:

    	?? Mandrill API
    	SMTP - mydomain.com:587
    	SMTP - mydomain.com:25
    	?? SendGrid API
    	?? Mailgun API
    Authentication:

    	None

Also, when I run the connectivity test by itself, I get

SMTP mail.mydomain.com:587 Open SMTP mydomain.com Yes No No No No

It shows Yes under None and No for the remaining including Login.
