I have enabled Foobox in the foogallery setting. In Chrome, the lightbox is working properly. However, when I access the page via safari, clicking the image will only direct me to the original image. No lightbox will appear. Not sure what’s the problem.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hi @tonywong69,

    Thanks for contacting us.

I am also seeing the issue in Chrome on OSX. My strong suspicion is that it is being caused by your caching plugin breaking FooBox javascript.

Would you please test this by disabling your caching plugin and then testing your site again in an incognito / secure browser (so that we can be sure there is no saved cache) and let me know if it works?

If so, then you can go to your caching plugin settings and review the javascript miminisation/concatenation/deferring options. Turn this off and progressively turn them on and test to see where it breaks.

It’s important that the FooBox & FooGallery javascript at the correct time during page load. If caching plugins defer the javascript execution until the end of the page load then it can break the ability for FooGallery to trigger FooBox on click.

Let me know how you get on.

Thanks, I have checked my caching plugin setup and I find that it is caused by “SG Optimizer” (The caching tools for siteground) .

After I disable “Defer Render-blocking JS” & “Combine CSS Files”, Foobox works fine now.

Both optimizations have easy to use exclude lists. You can use them to exclude Foobox scripts while keeping the optimization working for the rest of your site.

Nice to hear that, but I can’t find the option in the plugin setting page. Could you advise detail steps to do it?
