Hello, I downloaded this theme on WordPress about a month ago to develop my website. I used page builder and widget bundles for content purposes. Unfortunately when I substituted the Ultra slider with my own slider picture, several things wouldn’t work: Though the Max Mega Menu is enabled, it cannot be seen in the header. 2) The title of my website, Ann Wagner Live, can no longer be seen either. IPage (hosting company), has been trying to help me resolve this issue for a week. The domain is https://www.annwagnerlive.com. Somehow I need to get a menu bar for navigation purposes and the title of my website at the top. Do you have any suggestions? Thank you.

    Hi Ann

Thanks for posting. Have you edited the theme at a code level? If so, that isn’t recommended without using a child theme. The header isn’t present in the source code. If you have edited the theme at a code level and you suspect this is the issue then you could switch to another theme, delete Ultra and reinstall the theme from Appearance > Themes > Add New.

If you haven’t edited the theme at a code level then try temporarily deactivating all non-SiteOrigin plugins and see if that resolves the problem.

Please, also go to Pages, edit the home page and ensure the header is enabled. To assist with landing page creation, it’s possible to disable the header in the Page Settings meta box in the right column.

    Hello Andrew,
Thanks for the prompt response. First the header is enabled. Second, the support team at IPage sent me an email last night that the Max Mega Menu plugin does not seem to be compatible with the Ultra theme – and they suggest that I contact you.

I am at my wit’s end. I need a simple navigation menu at the top of my home page (somewhere) and the title Ann Wagner Live in large plain font at the top also.

When I asked IPage about just removing the theme completely and starting over, they led me to believe that it would mess with all of the indexing of my files.

Andrew, I do not believe that I corrupted the code. I do not have a coding background but I welcome any and all suggestions. Thank you.

MMM is compatible with Ultra but there could be an issue I haven’t seen before. Simply deactivate MMM and see if the header returns. Really quick and easy test.

If you just need a simple menu to the right of the site title/logo, why not just use the standard theme menu? Go to Appearance > Menus and assign a custom menu to theme’s primary menu location.

    Hi Andrew,
I de-activated MMM and nothing happened on my home page (still missing Ann Wagner Live on left header and navigation menu on right header. Weird thing though…if you go to my About page, annwagnerlive.com/about/, I have duplicate menu bars at top. I’m completely stumped.

This whole problem initially started when I first published my home page. Though I only saw my own slider and content in WordPress, when it was published it showed the Ultra theme picture on top of my slider and content. IPage helped me remove the Ultra theme picture but something is definitely amiss.

I really like and would like to keep the Ultra theme layout if I could just figure out the menu bar problem.

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Please run a plugin conflict test. Deactivate all plugins at once. Does the issue resolve? If not, reinstall the theme. Switch to any other theme, delete Ultra and resintall it. It sounds like theme files could have been edited, reinstalling will resolve that.

    Hi Andrew,
I am planning to follow your suggestion tomorrow. I will run the plugin conflict test. I have a question. If I delete Ultra and re-install it will it corrupt my content? Secondly, if I were to delete Ultra, could I go with a blank template in WordPress and recreate my website without affecting my files? Thanks.

    Sure, no problem ??

Deleting and re-installing the theme is no different from running a theme update when once is released, no content will be lost.

A WordPress theme has to be activated. If you’ve found a blank theme you like you can use that but a theme has to be used.
