Unable to resolve hostname

    Hello,

    I use a self-hosted CDN. Although it worked for a while, the ftp settings now give an error message “Unable to resolve hostname”

    I have checked everything and double checked. All login details are correct and have not been changed.

    What is going on and how do I solve this?

    Your DNS records probably changed, so it cannot find the domain you’re using anymore. If you have any idea what I’m talking about, try using FileZilla to connect with the same login. If that doesn’t work either, the issue is not related to this plugin but a server setup issue. You could try using another domain, like your website domain (i.e. https://www.domain.com instead of https://ftp.domain.com). You could also contact your hosting provider for the correct FTP login details.

    If you can connect to the server using FileZilla, then your server might have issues resolving external URLs. That problem is a bit more complicated, so let’s see the results of the above first.

    Hi gidomanders, and thanks for your reply.

    As I wrote in my first post, I have checked everything. Upgrading from PHP 7.1.x to 7.2.x in Plesk solved the problem somehow.

    What could have caused this problem?

    There might be/have been an issue in your PHP 7.1 installation with the native PHP FTP connection module. Unfortunately I cannot tell what happened without debugging your server.
