Unable to reset Site Kit

I first tried with Wordfence and WP Super Cache activated and then tried with them deactivated but always get an internal server error. It connected to Search Console straight away but not Analytics.

There may be something in your environment (server or plugin) involved. If possible, could you provide your Site Health information here or through this form? That may clue us in on any known conflicts.

Additionally, if you happen to have another site to test Site Kit on that might provide more insight if this site alone is affected.

I have put my site health info into the form. I have also tried deactivating all plugins and using the Twenty Twenty theme but still get the internal server error.

There is another WordPress site on the same VPS that has Site Kit running successfully.

@elhashbrown thanks for the details! If possible, could you try to reinstall Site Kit anew and let us know if the error persists?

I disconnected Site Kit, deactivated the plugin, deleted and re-uploaded a fresh copy. I kept Wordfence and WP-Super Cache deactivated and connected Site Kit to console. But still when I click on Analytics I get an Internal Server Error.

@elhashbrown thanks for the update. I have a suspicion you may be experiencing something similar found in this issue we’re currently investigating.

To confirm, could you provide a screenshot of the error in Analytics and browser console errors you see on the screen?

Here is a screenshot of the error.

The only console error is a 404 error for https://mydomain.com/wp-json/google-site-kit/v1/core/modules/data/activation/?_locale=user

@elhashbrown I’m following up on your topic regarding the issue with Analytics.

While we were not able to recreate the issue, we suspect that it could be related to an aspect of the server environment your site is in at your host- particularly the cURL library being used (see this issue for more details).

Unfortunately, we’re limited on the solutions we can provide there, but we’re working on a way to detect these issues sooner at setup. The next best course of action would be to contact your host.

We greatly appreciate your report and patience as we looked into this.
