I’m unable to remove the “Category:” prefix from my category page titles.

The prefix isn’t visible on the page itself but in the title when the URL is shared to social media or any messaging app.

I’ve checked the box under Archive Title Prefixes to “Remove term type prefixes from generated archive titles?” and cleared cache twice but that didn’t help.

    Any suggestions?

    Hello!

Some social sites cache the initial response of a URL. Therefore, they can keep displaying the content from before you made changes.

See if clearing their cache helps resolve the issue immediately.
    LinkedIn (just inspect to clear)
    Twitter (just preview to clear)
Facebook (“Debug -> Scrape Again” to clear)

If that doesn’t work, perhaps another plugin (or theme) is outputting extraneous social meta tags. See if you can find a toggle for those.

If you want me to take a look, please share the problematic URL with me.

    It worked. Thanks!
