I had done all the uploading but when I want to publish “About” page after completed file edit and upload, I get the message of 404 Error-Not found when I just doing the site testing like a user to click the About.
Can anyone help on this….Many thanks,

    Raymond

See if updating your permalink structure helps–Administration > Settings > Permalinks

Many thanks for your help…but I’don’t know how to updating the permalinks, although I follow your click direction but nothing there for me to update.
Would you mind to elaborate more on that.

    Thanks in advance,
    Raymond

What did you upload? You wouldn’t edit and upload anything if you were creating a page in WordPress. You’d just create a new page and publish it. Did you by chance create a subfolder called “about” on your server? Because WP doesn’t like that.

Log in to your admin area. Go to settings/permalinks. Choose a structure and click “save changes”.

I had try to log-in admin area, go to Settings/permalinks and try to look at the “structure” you were mentioned, but only see the “custom structure” with empty column waiting to be filled. And I don’t know what to fill either, so what should I do from there?

I have a similar problem but with all created Pages. Posts work fine. I’ve gone through the process of checking permalinks and reinstalling 2.7.1 and still, when the pages are clicked on they show up as blank. I cannot figure out what’s wrong. The URL for the site is, https://www.planputnam.org/ntm

Since not many people knowing how to solve this problem, the best solution is changing theme instead of wasting time.

Well, I did that and it solved the problem. But it doesn’t explain what happened in the first place so that if/when it happens again I’ll know what to look for.
