    Good Day Support,

I hope this finds you well.

I am trying to Extract the Plugin folder backup for my site. There is one plugin in particular that gives an error.

    It says:

    Unable to process
    “plugins\dc-woocommerce-multi-vend…\”

Please see Screenshot 1 here below:

    Error with Plugin Backup

This is preventing me from Extracting the other plugins on my site as well.

This same plugin was causing a few errors on my site and is the reason why I am trying to restore the backup of the Plugins folder.

Is there some way I can Extract all the plugins except this specific plugin and see if that works? And then I can simply download a fresh version of that plugin?

I tried to go into the zip file and only delete the folder for this plugin, however I got an error message.

Please see Screenshot 2 at the link below for the error message:

    Error with Plugin Backup

Do you know whether I will lose settings for this plugin if I have to download a free version? Or are the settings stored in the database rather than the plugin folder?

Do you have any other recommendations on how to proceed?

Thank you for the help as well as your time and energy.

    Kind regards and best wishes,
    Jethro

    Hi Jethro,

It is possible that the backup file has been corrupted. Please can you try to download a fresh copy of the backup and try to extract it again? Do you get the same issue?

I’m afraid it is not possible to extract or exclude a single plugin from plugins backup.

    Regards,
    Bryle

    Hello Bryle,

Wow, what a fast response. Thank you!

I have luckily been backing up regularly recently.

I have tried extracting 4 different Plugin backups.

3 that were done on 14th October

and 1 that was done on the morning of 16 October.

All of the files give the same error message.

Do these plugin folders contain valuable information such as plugin Settings and Data or is that all stored separately in the database?

If so, I suppose I may have to download the plugins individually. I don’t mind doing that if it is the only way, but if I lose all the settings and data then I think that is going to be a big problem ??

    Kind regards,
    Jethro

    Sorry for the delay!

Most of the plugins store its settings inside the database, so its okay to download the plugins folder.

However are you still having issue extracting the plugins zip file?

    Thanks,
    Harshad

    Hi There,

    Thanks for the info.

I was having issues using WinZip, however, I tried a different software to extract the zip file and I didn’t receive the same error.

I seem to have solved the issue.

    Thanks.
