• I have the latest version of Genesis Simple Share, and I am unable to get LinkedIn sharing to work, the button works, but when I click share, the content is empty. I have installed the Open Graph to have the og meta tags, but that didn’t help. Anyone had this same issue?

  • Hi, @alexibbb

Are your posts publicly accessible? If a login is required to view them, that can result in blank titles or content when you click share. (LinkedIn needs to be able to crawl the page to read the content.)

If your site is very new and the domain name has not propagated fully yet that could also explain this. (Waiting 24-48 hours should give LinkedIn time to find the site in this case.)

If that doesn’t help, please feel free to link to a post where the issue is visible.

    Hi Nick,

Thanks for the reply. The posts are publicly accessible, and the site isn’t new. I determined that the links aren’t shared when I use https in my link. My website is https, and for some reason linkedin can’t extract the data from the post. I changed the javascript of sharrre a bit to replace the https to http, and now LinkedIn works.

Thanks for sharing your solution, @alexibbb!

It would be worth reporting the LinkedIn crawler issue to LinkedIn – it may be stopping their users from sharing HTTPS links on your site manually.

Hi i am getting error while posting my website link
    Error is:
Cannot display preview. You can post as is, or try another link.

    Looking for solution

Can you help me as well? I cannot put https://www.crownleadership.com on LinkedIn?

Why? I really can’t understand. Please help

I retested the plugin and LinkedIn share previews are still working for me:

    LinkedIn share preview

If you see “cannot display preview” or similar when sharing to LinkedIn, that points to an issue with LinkedIn failing to access your site, as opposed to an issue with this plugin.

You could try reporting the issue to LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/help/linkedin/ask

@previlla Your site took ~30 seconds to load for me, so it may be that LinkedIn’s request timed out.
