    Hello @nicole330

Thanks for reaching out. This error is triggered when incomplete address details are sent to PayPal, but the error is not that clear. We have a ticket open to get this corrected to “PayPal refused the transaction. Please verify your billing details and try again”.

Please check both sides of the transaction: merchant details and customer details, this issue should be possible for you to fix.

The PayPal standard plugin is completely different and does not check the same fields as our plugin does (so it is a bit hard to compare the 2 and give you an answer on that).

Let me know if you get this resolved and if you still require our support.

    Kind regards,
    Joost

@joostvandevijver we need debug details on which fields have problems, not a generic message, because even if every field is filled out correctly, this message appears …

    Best regards,

    Hi @r33d3m33r

yes, I completely understand and that is also our goal, but we have to start somewhere and start filtering out the generic messages and convert them to more understandable ones for the merchants and customers to understand. This will be a process that we will continue to perform until we have covered the generic errors that the plugin is currently showing.

Debug information on the fields should be handled by this same effort. Our next release (version 1.6.0) includes better logging of the body of these errors, so we hope that will improve debugging as well. Usually, the frontend calls PayPal API on the backend through ajax, so these will be recorded from now on in the debug logs as well.

Currently, we are testing the new release, so this will become available (most likely) within this month. I hope this answers your question.

    Kind regards,
    Joost
