Unable to obtin exclusive lock

    With Quick Cache ENABLED, updating any WordPress page/post gives error “Exception thrown
    Unable to obtain exclusive lock”
    All has been working fine before today.

    Tried setting QC to DISABLE on the Settings page – QC message said “delete or empty content of wp-content/advanced-cache.php”, so I deleted it.
    Now WP pages do update ok, but Quick Cache “de-activate” still throws same exception and does NOT deactivate! So no way to uninstall/re-install.
    Help!

    P.S. to above,
    Using latest Version 141205 with php 5.4.
    Have tried removing other plugins, but error persists.
    Also cannot delete any media files, get same exception error thrown.

    @chrishe This is a known bug that has been fixed in the latest Release Candidate (v141229) available here: https://www.websharks-inc.com/post/quick-cache-v141229-release-candidate/

    A public release will be made later this week and released here on www.remarpro.com.

    If you’re able to help verify the problem has been fixed on your site by updating to the Release Candidate, that would be very helpful. I’ll mark this thread as resolved, but if you discover the Release Candidate does not fix the problem for you, please reopen this thread.

    Also, regarding removing Quick Cache: If you’re having trouble, please follow these steps:

    EMERGENCY: If all else fails, how can I remove Quick Cache?
    Ordinarily you can just deactivate Quick Cache from the plugins menu in WordPress. However, if you’re having a more serious issue, please follow the instructions here.

    1. Log into your site via FTP; perhaps using FileZilla.
    2. Delete this file: /wp-content/advanced-cache.php
    3. Delete this directory: /wp-content/plugins/quick-cache/
    4. Remove this line from your /wp-config.php file: define('WP_CACHE', TRUE);

    Quick Cache is now completely uninstalled and you can start fresh ??
