• I want to hide the author’s name from the middle of the footer, right after the publication date, remove the link on the date and make other modifications. I want to know why, using a child theme does not give me access to all the files of the template, so that I can modify them at will.

After installing the plugin, I analysed the website, which gave me access to few files only. These files do not include the folder containing the widget files. As a result, no matter how I modify them, the result is not visible to the browser. How can I gain access to these files within my child theme?

P.S. I am very new to WordPress.
    Thank you in advance

  • Hi,

You will need to contact the support of your premium theme for assistance.

I can only provide the following general information.

If the things you want to change is within a template, your theme support should be able to assist in template overriding using a child theme.

If the things you want to change is generate by a widget, then it’s not possible to make changes in child theme as it’s not a theme template.

    Thank you

Yes, I understand this and thank you for making it clear. However, I am not asking for support on that specific template. The easy way would be to pay the developer, as the guidelines suggest. My goal is to learn how to work with WordPress, so my question is if there is detailed documentation on how to work with child themes (apart from the basic stuff of course).

I would love to be able to handle issues like that. The developer already notified me that if I know how to work with child themes well enough, I should be able to solve it on my own. So, is there a standard way to overcome this when, in a template, not all files appear within a child theme for modification?

If, for any reason, you still cannot answer me, can you pease provide documentation on child themes? I would really appreciate it.

    Thank you for everything
