Unable to make changes or update meetings

  • I have for sometime been unable to make changes or updates to meetings.
    We have some meetings that are F2F only or a combination of F2F and Zoom and each time I have either tried to update or make the changes the dashboard never has the ‘Update’ button highlighted.

    Also Google maps no longer show on the backend – in fact this has now become so frustrating that if it wasn’t so important to have it (working) I would deleted it.

    I even rolled it back to a previous version for a couple of months I was able to make changes but then that stopped working.

    Once again I have spent a couple of very frustrating hours, with the latest version, trying everything I can think of but to no avail – what is on the site at the moment is now approximately 3 months old as I have been unable to update.

    Running latest WP version, PHP 7.4, and latest Meetings version.

    Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I might be doing wrong, or what might cause this?

  • Hello Wilf,

    Three things:

    1) Support for this plugin has moved, and is now found at https://github.com/code4recovery/12-step-meeting-list/discussions

    2) Google Maps recently changed their terms of service, and (essentially) said people needed to update their credit card number on file or else (the maps would stop working). Most of the web sites using TSML have replaced Google Maps with Mapbox. My Google Maps stopped working, but the replacement with Mapbox was very easy.

    3) I have had problems in the past where the Update button would not become clickable because the form did not recognize a change in a data field. It appears that the form checks for a change when a field is exited. I could sometimes get it to trigger by going back in (clicking within) a field and using the Tab key to exit the form field – so you might try various things to trigger a recognized change in data.

    But really, you should ask for support over in the Git Hub site for TSML.

    This did help enormously, it certainly got my Maps working with Mapbox and then I was able to update.

    Still working on it but thank you for your speedy response and I have noted where to go for support.

    I found when the Update button would not illuminate, I had to work on the address field for in person meetings, using all of the address icluding state and zip in the location filed. And needed to check the button for yes or no to inperson or online meetings.
    For online meetings I had to enter the zoom url in for the update to work when I tcked online for tick. Hope this helps.

    Yes I have found that contrary to the details about filling out a minimum of information in the address section if it is only an online Zoom meeting I have to keep the complete address, if I don’t I am unable to ‘update’ the information!
