I used the Rename Login Page feature. Then I needed to remove this. Now when I check the Enable Front-end Lockout, I cannot login, either with the usual WP login urls or the former renamed login page. (I have to go to wp-content/logins and change the name of this plugin folder before I can login again).

So how can I enable the Front-end Lockout and login in the default WP login page? Thank you.

Hi, when you say you enable the front end lockout; are you talking about the Brute Force feature Rename Login Page? If you are, are you typing the following to access your site, yoursite.com/secretword?

I’ll try and explain the situation again:

-Initially, I renamed the login page at >Brute Force > Rename Login Page
-After a while, I realized this would be confusing for my clients, so I deactivated this option
-Now, I check the box ‘Enable Front-End Lockout’ at >Maintenance > Visitor Lockout, and I can’t login on any page (I should be able to login on https://www.mydomain.com/wp-login.php, because the login page is not renamed)

Note: If in this situation I rename again the login page, I do login on this renamed page. But I don’t want to use a renamed page, just the default WP login pages.

Thank you for clarifying further your situation.

Do you have a cache plugin? If you do, can you clear your cache and then try again to log in with wp-login.php. Also make sure that you are login in with Admin rights.(Note: make sure you don’t have Rename Login Page enabled)

If the above does not work can you disable all of your other plugins and then try to carry out the above steps again.

    Let me know what happens.

    Thank you

Yes, thank you, it did work when I cleared the cache on the cache plugin. The plugin was deactivated and I had to activate it and clear the cache. I didn’t know that even deactivated the cache created by this plugin, W3, could still have an effect.
