• I have tried to log into our wordpress admin panel via wp-admin but I’m receiving the message that ‘Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete.’ If I use wp-login it resolves to wp-admin.

I have tried disabling all the plugins through PHPMyadmin and also removing them all from the plugins folder and then trying to log in. It looks as if I’m logged in when I visit a page on the site but I can’t access the dashboard. Deactivating the plugins made no difference.

Any page on the site which is in wp-admin receives a 404 error.

Does anyone know why this might be happening? The site is https://www.paint-pots.co.uk.

  • Can you kindly rename the .htaccess file located under your base directory and check it once?

Hi, there are several .htaccess files but I renamed the one in the folder for this site and I got the following error:

    Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, [email protected] and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

I had my hard drive replaced and can not log on to /wp-admin. I reregistered and can not get to a point to log on with the new password.

Not being able to login has nothing to do with the hard drive you had replaced.

You probably recently updated a plugin that took down your site. I would start your own thread and request help from someone. It is a very common issue.

    Just adding this comment again:

    PLEASE DO NOT BUMP

Try to remove the root directory .htaccess file only
