• Apologies if this is the incorrect forum. I’ve searched through a ton of past inquiries on this problem, but haven’t found a satisfactory answer so far. I’ve created a subdomain to use as a staging site to test Gutenberg and it has propagated. My primary and subdomain are as such:

    Primary: monkey-bites.com
    Subdomain: test.monkey-bites.com

When I go to test.monkey-bites.com/wp-admin, it redirects to the login page above but does not accept my primary site login credentials with the message, ERROR: Invalid Username. Am I supposed to set up a separate login for my subdomain, and if so, how do I accomplish that?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Use the forgot password option with the email address you used to create the website.

You probably should have an email from any new user you might have created also.

or, if this is a multisite, you might login to the root site and then open the second site in a separate window. If needed you can login there but if you’re the network – super admin you will probably remain logged in to the new site also.

Thanks for your help! I actually created the subdomain through my cPanel on my primary domain, so I didn’t create a new user. I am not running multisite. I didn’t want to have to change the password for my primary domain if I could help it, especially if I’ll still run into the same problem with the subdomain again, but I’ll give it a try. Thanks again!

I’m actually hesitant to use the lost password since I know the password for my primary domain. It’s just not recognizing my new subdomain as a username. I don’t want to change the password for my primary domain if that’s not going to help me login to my subdomain. Any ideas?

Its so much hesitant to use the subdomain not login , please watch a video on youtube and do same steps because i can’t explain total in text. and if you want more help then contact us
