Unable to log in with the Android app when using the Two Factor plugin for 2FA

I have installed and set up the ‘Two Factor’ plugin on my self-hosted instance of WordPress (5.4.1). I have also installed the ‘Application Passwords’ plugin and generated an application password to use in the WordPress Android app.
However, in this setup, I am unable to log in to my site either with my actual password or the application password. The application complains that the credentials are incorrect. However, if I disable 2FA on my site, the app is able to log in without any issues.
What could be the issue here and how can I resolve it?
