Whenever I try to log in to post or moderate comments, I get a drop down box that says: Authentication Required A username and password are being requested by https://www.d-n-i.net. The site says: “Private zone”

It rejected my administrator password. I asked for a new one and it rejected that one, too.

The problem started Friday (3/6/2009) when I got a message that someone had requested a change to the password. Nobody had, so I logged in and reset the password myself, just in case the site was being hacked. Then on 3/7/09, I started getting the message in the first paragraph.

The site is a WordPress blog running on a Network Solutions website. It has been running fine for well over a year, until last weekend.

    Appreciate any help!

The “Private zone” message is generated by Network Solutions.

It’s asking for the site (not WordPress) U/N and P/W. These are available through the Account Manager — on Network Solutions, U/Ns start with “ntsl” They can be found under “Web Hosting / Manage Web Hosting / Toolbox / Password Protection”

This same problem is happening to me, only instead of “Private zone” I see “Magic”. Apparently, WordPress has been hacked and it appears to be users running versions 2.8.1 and below.

All my plugins have a long code added in the first line. Check your plugins and I would assume they are corrupted.

I have version 2.8.4 and it is happening to me as well.
