Unable to log in

Hello, I have a wordpress set up in 2014, not accessed for a few years, want to log in today and says the username doesn’t exist (even though I have an old email with the username on it so I know its correct) and email also doesn’t exist, though wordpress are still sending me updates through this email. Any ideas how I can log back on. I need very simple instructions as have not much experience in wordpress! We have someone to update the site but need access to do this, many thanks
