    Through AWS Lightsail, I have created a new instance Plesk Hosting Stack on Ubuntu. Now, I have connected domain name digitalsplendid.host with a new WordPress instance. Using FileZilla, I have connected remote files (https://ibb.co/TrQpmmZ). However, unable to locate WordPress files such as Wp-content associated with the WordPress instance digitalsplendid.host.

    However, unable to locate WordPress files such as Wp-content associated with the WordPress instance digitalsplendid.host.

    Plesk stores public website files in the directory httpdocs (whereas cPanel uses public_html) under the user’s home directory.

    Ideally, you should be using the site’s account to access FTP/SFTP/FTPS, instead of using a system account. If you use the site’s own username and password in FileZilla, you should see something like this:

    If you’re not seeing the httpdocs folder, you’ve probably logged in with a system account that’s not tied to any particular site.

    While it’s possible to navigate to the right site’s folder with the system account (provided it has the right privileges), doing so is risky, as that could very easily mess up the entire server if you’re not very careful.

    @gappiah Thanks so much. I will start from scratch due to hurdles faced and let you know my outcome.

    In the meantime if possible, your support regarding this thread with Let’s Encrypt should be helpful to me: https://community.letsencrypt.org/t/unable-to-activate-ssl-for-plesk-ubuntu-wordpress-instance/141312.

    For Plesk Ubuntu on Amazon Lightsail, need to open port 20-22, 49152-65535 under networking (https://ibb.co/xLkp3tM). They are blocked by default.

    Thanks for the update.

    But this is a general case on every system: you need to ensure the appropriate FTP ports are open for (active) FTP or passive FTP traffic, and if you’re using SFTP, you also need to ensure SSH port (22 or your custom SSH port) is open.

    Since your specific question was “unable to locate WordPress files such as wp-content”, I assumed you had already made a successful S/FTP connection but you were simply unable to find the directory contacting the WordPress files.

    Thanks again for the update, and good luck with your project!

    @gappiah

    Thanks for the reply.

    Yes, I could locate the WP files under httpdocs.

    Since I have been used to shared hosting (GoDaddy, NameCheap, WPEngine, LiquidWeb, Cloudways…), these steps taken care by them.
