• I recently uploaded 2.6.3 wordpress, with no issues, then I came across an SEO version which I installed to a separate domain, but now I am getting the following message.

We were able to connect to the database server (which means your username and password is okay) but not able to select the wealthyaffiliateworld database.

    * Are you sure it exists?
    * Does the user shukes have permission to use the wealthyaffiliateworld database?
    * On some systems the name of your database is prefixed with your username, so it would be like username_wordpress. Could that be the problem?

If you don’t know how to setup a database you should contact your host. If all else fails you may find help at the WordPress Support Forums.

I ensured that the database existed by creating a new sql database called wealthyaffiliateworld

    can anybody help

just 1 more thing I did recently re-direct the nameservers for hostgator from another host yesterday 24/11/08

    Kind regards

  • Hostgator uses cPanel control panel if I remember, so DB_NAME and DB_USER will be prefixed by your account login. If you create a database call wpdbase then it will be created as ‘yourlogin_wpdbase’. Same with the user. Please look at the MySQL wizard for the database name and user associated with that.

    Review Installing WordPress.

Having the same problem both with Hostgator and the SEO blog
and have done all of the above.
    Still completely lost

I have decided to go the way of using hostgator to download WordPress and then drop in the plugins that come free with the SEO software
