• i am new to this..
I have existing blog from 3 years in wordpress.com. now i have purchased domain name x.com from wordpress and hosting in godaddy. I have added my x.com to my wordpress.com blog at upgrades> domain . from there i went manage ur domains link to automatic domain manager where i set nameservers to godaddy nameservers.
i installed wordpress in godaddy hosting account and i could see preview of my new site where i could customise and export content. etc.
but when i click on DNS at godaddy it says
“The domain associated with this hosting account is not registered with your account. Please call customer support.” and to contact my registrar.
how to make my new site visible to all
i am very much new to it please help.

  • As you have the domian name pointing wordpress.com blog you can not point same domain name to your Go daddy host account you can only use one domain name on one website.

    thanks for the reply..
i still have doubts.. sorry for basic question..
i added my domain name to my wordpress blog when i purchased the upgrade from wordpress. right now my blog is the primary domain there and my new site x.com is secondary. but still when i type my site url [ x.com ] it neither goes its site nor it redirects to my wordpress existing blog which is primary domail in wordpress.com account].

name servers of my new siteis rightlly pointing to godaddy servers.(wordpress support confirmed it).
when i contacted godaddy says [“Upon review of X.com, we found that the zone file was not picking up the changes.]”. they keep repeating this and say they are refreshing it.. but nothing happens.. it is more than four days i am stuck here…

whether i should contact wordpress to delete my x.com site from my wordpress domains page. if so i have installed wordpress in my new site and =now used wordpress to upload my content tru preview dns link to my site.. whether that will get effected.

i am sorry if my queries are too basic…
    thanks..

Once you change the DNS at registrar that is all you need to to do to change host and it takes a day or two to propagate.

Check Your DNS at Go Daddy

Follow this steps to to see what you have

    * Sign in to your registered account with your registered username and password
    * Click and go to web address manager
    * Check the box close to your domain name
    * Mouse click on the name servers icon at the top side of the page
    * Check the box that reads “I’ve particular nameservers for my domains”.
    * Insert your brand-new name servers in the two boxes… nameserver 1 and nameserver 2
    * Mouse click okay
