Hi @priya1lrl, sorry to hear you’re having problems installing.

What is the specific error you receive when trying to install on your sites? Is that a WordPress error that the install/activation process itself actually failed from WordPress > Plugins > Add New or an issue after a supposed successful install and activation?

It may help to know what host or platform you’re installing on as there can be slight differences in terms of setup, or adjustments to be made with platforms like Cloudflare/Litespeed to prevent timeouts and blocks.

    Thanks,
    Peter.

I tried 2way Plugins->Add New and Plugins Upload.
after it shows “502 Bad Gateway cloudflare”

    We are using Cloudflare platform.

    Hi @priya1lrl,

When using Wordfence with Cloudflare, the three main considerations are accurate detection of visitor IPs, ensuring your site’s own IP can connect back to itself, and allowing our IPs to connect to your site. It looks like a regular HTML page is being served rather than the response to our connection request.

For IP detection, our “Use the Cloudflare “CF-Connecting-IP” HTTP header to get a visitor IP. Only use if you’re using Cloudflare.” option is explained here: https://www.wordfence.com/help/dashboard/options/#general-wordfence-options

Our IPs and possible need to allow them in Cloudflare specifically are mentioned here: https://www.wordfence.com/help/advanced/#servers-and-ip-addresses

How to allow our IPs in Cloudflare itself is highlighted step-by-step here: https://www.wordfence.com/help/central/connect/#troubleshooting-connection-issues

If you need to allow your own site’s IP(s) to connect back to itself, you can use the same method shown in the link above (finding the site’s IP(s) in Wordfence > Tools > Diagnostics > IP(s) used by this server if you don’t already know it.)

    Thanks again,
    Peter.
