Hi, I am getting a critical error when trying to install WooPayments in Nestify. I migrated the site to DreamHost and it does not have any problems installing. Nestify say it is the plugin’s issue and not their server but I have my doubts. They have provided the following error message to be followed by WooPayments support. Please help.

[error] 262127#262127: *46757 FastCGI sent in stderr: “PHP message: PHP Fatal error: Uncaught WCPay\Exceptions\API_Exception: The registration secrets sent by your site do not match the ones the Jetpack server has on record. in /storage/v14800/wpdrch-test/public_html/wp-content/plugins/woocommerce-payments/includes/wc-payment-api/class-wc-payments-http.php:194

  • Hi there @theqrater ??

Thanks for reaching out to Woo Support!

Unable to Install Step 3 – WooPayments

From what I gather, WooPayments work as expected when hosted with DreamHost. A PHP error appears, when hosting with Nestify, though.

WooPayments requires a connection to a WordPress.com account to accept payments from buyers and to show sellers details about transactions, deposits, and disputes.

Feel free to take a look at the document, linked here, for further details on this. Options with regard to Jetpack are detailed, also.

I hope this is helpful! Please let us know if you have any further questions or concerns.
We will be happy to help you further.

    Hi Pepe,

Thanks for the reply! I have forwarded it onto Nestify. We have tried installing it on their default PHP 7.4. We have also tried installing after I upgraded to PHP 8.2. Both didn’t work with critical errors happening when I try to finish setting up WooPayments and get redirected to WordPress.com. Anyway, hopefully your reply points them in the right direction for fixing this.

    Hi Pepe,

I have done a bit of further testing and tried to install Jetpack to attempt to get a connection through it for WooPayments. No luck. I can’t install Jetpack on Nestify but can install it with no issues on DreamHost. I have sent this information to them an am waiting for a response.

    Hi there @theqrater,

It’s good to know that you’ve been able to install it successfully on DreamHost, which means the issue might be specific to Nestify.

While we wait for their response, I would suggest double-checking the server requirements for Jetpack. Ensure that your PHP version is 7.4 or higher, and your server has the XML-RPC file enabled.

Additionally, check if there are any security firewalls that could be blocking the installation.

Let us know how it goes.

    Hi ckadenge,

Thanks for following this up. I am happy to report that this installation problem is now resolved. I have successfully setup WooCommerce with WooPayments on Nestify.

The strange thing is that Nestify say they haven’t ’fixed’ anything on their server end. I asked if the Vultr server I am on was somehow ‘self-healing’ as it fixed itself after a day but they said there was nothing to heal. They added that they believe it was something you guys did on your end. Well it can’t be a plugin update as that didn’t happen. Maybe a reset of the Jetpack authorization servers or something?

I am just taking wild guesses as it is distressing not knowing why a simple installation like this went wrong in the first place but it is even more distressing not knowing how it got fixed. I am worried it could break at any time in the future. Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

    Hello @theqrater,

Glad to know everything is working as expected!

Thanks for following this up. I am happy to report that this installation problem is now resolved. I have successfully setup WooCommerce with WooPayments on Nestify.

The last WooPayments version was released a week ago, so it’s not from our end. :?)

If I had to guess, something was blocking the Jetpack connection, either a firewall rule or restriction to the number of XML-RPC requests that can be sent, etc.

I’ll be marking the thread as solved for now, please feel free to create a new one if you have any other problem.
