Unable to install Pretty Link 1.4.47 with WordPress 3.0

  • I attempted to install it, however it indicates:

    Could not create directory. /public_html
    Actions: Return to Plugin Installer

    Is there an incompatibility here. If so, how can I install or perhaps do I have to use a different version?

  • Hmm, this may indicate a permission issue on your webhost — are you able to install other plugins?

    I have installed other plugins and have not had a problem. That is why I am wondering why the difficulty.

    My host provider indicated that the issue was related to the plugin “WP OnlyWire Auto Poster”. They had disabled it and now it works fine. They also indicated that this plugin may not work well with the latest release of wordpress.

    Further to my earlier update, for further clarification, I requested assistance from my webhost provider to intall the prettylink plugin.
    They were able to install it, however resulted in another problem which was resolved as explained above.
