Unable to install jetpack

I have been trying jetpack on my wordpress site but failed everytime.
As soon as I click on the install button the page starts loading and then as usual the messages on the screen :-
Downloading jetpack…………
Unpacking the file……
After the above, the page stops loading and no progress is shown…Please tell me why is this happening? What is its solution ?
